Miami Heat Stage Late Comeback To Beat Chicago Bulls and Advance to Finals

The Chicago Bulls had the chance to take the Heat back to Miami and extend the East finals to six games, but LeBron James and Dwyane Wade had other ideas. After a furious comeback to finish the game the Bulls were defeated on their home court and the Heat are heading to the NBA Finals. With the 83-80 win the experiment that began with The Decision is four wins away from achieving the goal of an NBA Championship.

The Big Three for Miami showed why they were such highly sought after free agents last summer. James scored 28 points to go along with 11 rebounds and six assists. Wade helped with 21 points and Bosh added 20 points and 10 rebounds. Wade had nine turnovers but surged during an 18-3 run that ended the game.

With around three minutes left in the game the Bulls were up 12. A minute later Wade had scored four and James hit a three to pull within 5 points. Rose hit a shot on the other end but fouled Wade on a three point shot. He made the free throw and completed the four point play.

With 1:01 left on the clock James tied the game at 79 with another 3. He hit the next shot to pull ahead by two with 29.5 seconds left. Rose was fouled and only made the front end of his shots, leaving the Bulls trailing by one.

Bosh put in two free throws and left the Bulls with a chance to tie at the end of the game. The inexperienced Bulls, without a timeout, looked lost as they tried to get an open shot for Kyle Korver or Rose and the possible tying shot was blocked by James.

Rose finished the game with 25 points but on 9-29 shooting. The rest of the the Bulls played relatively poorly. Carlos Boozer who saw a resurgence in the past few games only had five points, Luol Deng managed 18 and only Ronnie Brewer managed to get into double figures.

Game one of the NBA Finals will see the Dallas Mavericks and the Heat square off Tuesday night in Miami.
