The Taliban launched yet another attack against Pakistani authorities to avenge the death of Osama bin Laden. The latest attack occurred Thursday in the Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Officials say a suicide bomber denoted his explosives inside a car parked near police and court buildings.
Hangu district police chief Abdul Rasheed said at least 25 people were killed and 56 others were wounded in the explosions.
On Wednesday, a suicide bomber acting for the Taliban drove a car packed with at least 660 pounds of explosives into a police building in Peshawar. Authorities say 7 police officers died and 30 other people were wounded.
Earlier in the week 6 Taliban militants ambushed the Mehran naval air station in Karachi. The siege lasted 17 hours and resulted in the deaths of 10 Pakistani troops. At least 15 others were wounded.
Bin Laden was killed May 2 at a compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan by a team of United States Navy SEALs. Shortly after his death, al-Qaeda and groups connected to them vowed to seek revenge.
