3 Iraqi Interior Ministry Officials Killed in Explosion

A bomb planted on a vehicle killed three Iraqi Interior Ministry officials and one child on Wednesday. The bomb exploded as the vehicle was driving in the Ashhabi neighborhood in Falluja.

Local authorities say four ministry officials were in the vehicle at the time of the blast. The three that died included the police commissioner, the deputy police chief of Garma and the director of the Falluja police intelligence department. A 7-year-old boy playing alongside the road was killed and his 5-year-old brother was wounded. The attack is under investigation.

Earlier this week, a series of 15 explosions in Baghdad left 18 dead and 77 others wounded. The explosions occurred over a four hour time span on Monday and were the work of insurgents.
