Writer James Brady Dies at 80

Well known celebrity columnist and war novelist James Brady died Wednesday at his Manhattan home. A cause of death has not been determined. He was 80.

Brady garnered fame for writing celebrity profiles and stories about his experiences in the Korean war. He was a publisher for Women’s Wear Daily before he became a publisher for Harper’s Bazaar magazine. Brady’s was hired to edit the tabloid Star in 1974. There he created the New York Post’s famed Page Six column.

Brady is survived by his wife Florence and two daughters.
