Iranian
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad responded to recent comments made by U.S.
President Barack Obama by demanding an apology for past transgressions
committed against his country.
Obama
had said the U.S. would be willing to extend a hand to help Iran if the country
“unclenched its fist” but Ahmadinejad said the Americans first move should be
to “apologize to the Iranian people and try to repair their past crimes.”
Ahmadinejad
has said the U.S. has stood against Iran for more than 60 years and if Obama
stood for change then it would have to be more than just rhetoric, it would
have to be “fundamental and effective.”
