Defective Chinese Drywall Alert Announced by Morgan & Morgan

The attorneys of Morgan & Morgan (ForThePeople.com) are currently investigating cases of defective Chinese drywall in Florida homes. Serious health problems, including respiratory problems, may result from exposure to the dangerous fumes that are being emitted from the defective drywall.

In 2004-2006, many Florida builders used imported Chinese drywall in the construction of new homes due to a shortage of U.S.-manufactured drywall. Evidence suggests that the defective drywall is emitting harmful fumes, which can have negative effects on the health of individuals living in the homes. The fumes can also cause damage to air conditioning, pipes, and wiring. Hundreds of Florida homeowners have reported problems in new homes built with defective dry wall from China.

Signs that defective Chinese drywall may have been used in the construction of your home include strong sulfur odors and frequent problems with air conditioning systems, wiring, and pipes. In addition, if you or your family members suffer from irritated eyes, respiratory problems, nose bleeds, and headaches that subside when you are away from home, you may have defective drywall in your home. Young children, the elderly, and individuals with asthma and chemical sensitivities are at an increased risk for experiencing these symptoms.

To date, the defective drywall has been traced to two major drywall companies, Knauf Plasterboard Tianjin Co. Ltd. and Lennar Corp. Although a majority of the affected homes are in Florida, there have been reports of defective drywall in Virginia as well. The lawyers at Morgan & Morgan are investigating potential lawsuits against the companies, builders and manufacturers responsible for the defective drywall and the harm it has caused.
