SuperCamp's teen summer camps are filling in learning gaps left by school's budget cutbacks and commitments to training for standardized testing. As a result, the program's academic summer camps are facing an unprecedented demand among parents wanting to provide their teens with summer enrichment to help them succeed in high school.
The summer enrichment programs offered by SuperCamp complement what schools are able to deliver by addressing enhanced reading, writing, problem-solving, critical-thinking, memory and study skills. In addition, the teen summer camp provides campers with life skills techniques that help in the areas of communication, leadership, team-building, and time management.
Over 2,200 students are expected to attend SuperCamp this summer, bringing the total of graduates by the end of the summer to over 57,000 since the summer camp program launched 30 years ago in 1982.
The academic camp offers programs for students entering grades 6-8, 9-12 and college in the fall. Camps are held at nine U.S. colleges, including Stanford, Brown, Wake Forest and UCLA.
SuperCamp's management team recently added new dates to this summer's schedule to meet the growing demand. As a result, while several camps are already full, there is space available in all program levels.
