The new release – Yellowfin 5.2: Making Business
Intelligence even easier – will include new chart types, improved user
interface and enhanced scalability.
“Yellowfin 5.2 is all about making Business Intelligence even easier,” said
Yellowfin CEO, Glen Rabie. “Easier to use, easier to manage, scale and
adapt to changing business needs. Most importantly, Yellowfin is making
it even easier for more people to reap the benefits of self-service data
analysis. Yellowfin’s new range of highly intuitive data visualizations
allows everyone to generate better business insight.”
Rabie said that Yellowfin 5.2 will enable organizations to realize unparalleled
Return on Investment, with its unrivalled ease-of-use leading to widespread
user adoption and lower total cost of ownership, due to reduced day-to-day
business user demands.
“User adoption is the key to a successful BI implementation,” said Rabie.
“The key to sustained user adoption is ease-of-use, without compromise.
Yellowfin 5.2 cements our position as the world’s easiest-to-use BI solution,
and moves beyond traditional reporting, to deliver insight by making data
analysis easy.”
Yellowfin’s intuitive BI solution challenging traditional big name players:
Dresner Study
Rabie’s comments are backed by the latest Dresner Advisory Services Wisdom of
Crowds Business Intelligence Market Study.
The global study ranked vendors on a five-point scale, across 32 criteria,
based on: Sales experience, value, quality and usefulness of product, quality
of technical support, quality and value of consulting services, and whether
existing clients would recommend the vendor and its product to others.
The findings, released mid-May this year and compiled via feedback from
eligible respondents (users with first-hand experience with the BI vendors and
their product/services), compared 16 of the world’s leading BI vendors and
awarded Yellowfin an overall score of 4.23 out of five. Yellowfin outscored big
name players including Qliktech, SAS Institute, Microstrategy, Oracle, IBM Cognos,
Microsoft and SAP Business Objects along with Open Source offerings Actuate
(BIRT), Pentaho and Jaspersoft.
“This fantastic user-driven result validates our hard work, and further
strengths our mandate to keep making Business Intelligence easy,” said Rabie.
“Yellowfin was one of only three vendors that was recommended by 100 percent of
survey participants – we couldn’t have received a stronger endorsement for our
people, product and services.”
The result reaffirms Yellowfin’s reputation as an emerging global BI leader,
and positions it as Australia’s foremost BI solution.
Yellowfin 5.2 will be launched on Tuesday 7 June in an exclusive series of
webinars and made available for general use from Friday 10 June.
