Football Coach Attributes Winning Season to SportsDepot

Frank Falcio, coach of the Cedar Sharks football team in claims that a losing season has turned into a winning one because of SportDepot.com

Superstition in sports is nothing new. Some players will wear the same socks or shorts during every game, while others will perform strange rituals if they believe that it will improve their performance or help them win games. It seems that superstition, and perhaps some quality equipment, have helped a Long Island football team turn their season around from losers to winners.

Coach Fred Falcio of the Cedar Sharks football team attributes his winning ways to the purchase of sports equipment from SportsDepot.com (http://www.sportsdepot.com/ ). “I had big hopes for our team this season, but we got off to a really awful start of 0 – 4, “says Coach Falcio. “I have a really talented group of players, but it seemed that no matter what we did or tried, we just couldn’t win a game. Morale was low and I felt that I needed to give the guys some sort of boost to pick them up a bit. I decided to give everyone new matching football belts that I bought online from SportsDepot.com just to give them a little lift, and make them feel like we were still a team. It helped the mood, but everyone was still nervous and worried about our upcoming game. Saturday came and we crushed the competition 28-3.”

Falcio was obviously thrilled and wanted to keep the streak going. Until that moment Coach Falcio was not a big believer in superstition, but couldn’t help thinking that perhaps the belts brought his team good luck. “I’ve heard all the stories about players and teams doing crazy, superstitious things, but I was never really into that. I just had a feeling that the belts from SportsDepot had helped somehow. I didn’t say anything to my players about my hunch but so I decided to try again.” Coach Falcio went to SportsDepot.com to get something new for his players. “The day after our win, I went to the website and ordered wristbands for everyone. They arrived quickly, I gave them out, and guess what? We won our second game in a row.” Coach Falcio says that from that day on he was a true believer. “I told the guys that I was convinced that the belts and the wristbands had a hand in our sudden good fortune, but that I couldn’t afford to keep buying things for the whole team. They agreed to help with the money and each week we’d pick something new from SportsDepot and wear it to that week’s game. We are now 6-4 for the season and headed for the playoffs.” Coach Falcio joked that he and the team may go broke if they want to keep winning but that nobody seems to care. ”
