Alcohol rehab center Michael’s House unveiled its tailored treatment program for women this week, as part of its comprehensive cache of addiction recovery services. With an emphasis in women’s issues, the Southern California rehabilitation center offers a specialized track for females recovering from alcohol addiction.

"From traumas such as domestic abuse and sexual assault to the pressures of motherhood and self-image issues, women face unique challenges in alcoholism recovery," explained Krista Gilbert, Michael's House Chief Executive Officer. "At Michael's House, our staff acknowledges and treats women's issues, recognizing their role in alcohol addiction and offering compassionate, healing care."

The innovative women’s alcoholism program at Michael’s House places a spotlight on issues that often complicate alcohol recovery for women. With specialized therapies guided by clinical therapists, the program includes a heightened focus on trauma recovery, relationship strengthening and physical healing. With an established reputation in treating mental health disorders, Michael’s House’s women’s alcoholism recovery program also offers Dual Diagnosis capacity. Based on the Foundations Treatment Model , the program is equipped to treat concurrent issues women face in alcoholism recovery, including anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and clinical and post-partum depression among other psychological issues.

In addition to treating female-specific addiction issues, Michael’s House offers traditional 12-step guidance as part of its holistic recovery regimen. Boasting on-site detoxification, customized treatment plans and personalized therapy sessions, the alcoholism treatment center also places an emphasis on nutrition, fitness, communication skills, stress reduction and life skills training.

“By taking a round approach to alcohol addiction recovery, we can offer healing for women broken by alcoholism,” said Gilbert. “We work with each patient to achieve physical restoration, healthier relationships, positive self-image and strengthened coping skills to engender a successful, sober life.”
