Alcohol recovery center Michael’s House showcased its Extended Care Program
this week, providing sober living care to individuals recovering from
alcoholism. Located at the center’s scenic Palm Springs campus, the Extended
Care Program offers ongoing therapy, social support and a structured
environment. With longer stay durations and tailored treatment plans, Michael’s
House’s Extended Care Program offerings include individualized therapy
sessions, structured activities, transitional planning and social engagement in
a safe, sober atmosphere.
Following the Foundations Treatment Model, the Extended Care
Program offers additional support, treatment stays of longer duration and
transitional guidance for those requiring extra therapy and structure before
returning home to establish new, sober lives. With personalized treatment
programs incorporating nutritional guidance, fitness programs, meditation
techniques and trauma therapies, the Extended Care Program also emphasizes
aftercare planning, aimed at identifying alcoholism triggers, creation of
support networks and planning for relapse prevention.
“Alcoholism recovery doesn’t end at graduation from a
alcohol rehab program,” explained Michael’s House Chief Executive Officer, Krista
Gilbert. “Tailored aftercare provides patients with a realistic action plan for
sobriety by identifying obstacles, gathering support and forging concrete plans
for a sober future.”
As part of its Extended Care Program, Michael’s House also offers
intensive support for individuals seeking Dual Diagnosis treatment. Treating a
range of co-occurring psychological conditions such as depression, anxiety,
behavioral and personality disorders, the center’s clinical therapists help
patients gain insight and healing as they battle addiction alongside mental
health concerns.
“Our aftercare program helps maximize the chances of
relapse-free sobriety,” continued Gilbert. “By working with addiction
specialists at the close of treatment, patients can make a seamless transition
from residential alcohol recovery at Michael’s House to daily sober living at
home.”
