The state of Alabama passed House Bill 56 which far surpasses immigration legislation passed by the state of Arizona. The bill passed in Arizona which is being contested in Federal courts was thought to be one of the strictest in the country.
According to the new Alabama immigration law, public schools are required to determine the immigration status of all students along with the costs associated with their education. The bill also bars any student who has illegal status from entering any public college or university after the age of 18.
