Happy Customer Now Owns Three DFW Massage Envy Centers

If happy customers are a business’s best advertising, then father and son duo Frank and Jordan Stockton are doing Massage Envy proud. A customer himself, Frank now owns three Massage Envy centers – Fort Worth Hulen, Arlington Highlands and Uptown at West Village in Dallas. Son Jordan manages the Arlington Highlands center.

Frank, a former 23-year employee with Southwest Airlines, first discovered Massage Envy while doing his last-minute shopping in Coppell on Christmas Eve in 2005. Having enjoyed massages on a regular basis over the years for $90 and more, Massage Envy caught his attention with an introductory massage for $39. Although it sounded too good to be true, he bought gift cards for three friends, all of whom were “thrilled” with their experience at Massage Envy, so Frank went back to get a massage for himself.

The rest, as the story goes, is history. “I was shocked that my massage at Massage Envy was just as good if not better for half the price of what I usually paid! While checking out, I noticed Massage Envy was a franchise. Within seconds I knew the concept of convenient hours, affordable pricing and quality service was a terrific business model and decided to start investigating what it took to become an owner,” Frank says.

Now that he’s opened three centers where people can receive a wonderful massage experience, he most  enjoys interacting with his employees and customers.  Frank tries to develop personal relationships and values input from others. After he opened the Fort Worth center, he would sit down with members to discuss their massage experience, which built great relationships with the customers, provided valuable customer service lessons and helped fine tune how he ran the business. He still holds focus groups with members to this day, which he deems “priceless.”

Frank is most proud of his 23-year-old son Jordan, “a fine young man” who joined him in the business as a Sales Associate at the Fort Worth location in January 2007 when he was 18.  Since then Jordan has worked at all three locations with his father gaining valuable leadership and customer service experience. “Jordan had to work his way up over the years” Frank says but after proving himself by handling more responsibility and being effective operationally, Jordan was promoted to supervisor, Assistant Center Manager and now Manager of the Arlington location. 

Frank enjoys working with his son knowing they both value and model good customer service.  “The customer is the reason we're here, so it's important to me, my son and my staff that each customer feels welcomed and appreciated. I treasure one-on-one time with employees and customers alike,” he notes, adding, “They are what makes our Centers successful.”

Another lesson Frank is passing along to his son to help him succeed at Massage Envy is rooted in advice he was given by his grandmother when he was first hired at Southwest Airlines. “I was eager to climb the corporate ladder so my grandmother told me that if I wanted to be successful, I should always be on time, maintain a positive attitude, don't make excuses, work hard even when the work wasn't fun, and do more than what was required of me so that I would stand out among the rest of my co-workers. I applied her advice then and still do to this day.”

In addition to being the owner, Frank is still a Massage Envy customer. Massage therapy helps him relax, de-stress and rejuvenate, while promoting a healthy balance in his busy schedule. He also surrounds himself with enthusiastic and friendly employees including his son.
