Representative Wiener admits to sending inappropriate photos

By: Daun Lee

Last week, NY Rep. Antony Weiner mistakenly posted a picture of his crotch on Twitter. He initially denied his behavior, but today revealed he was guilty of sending the picture, and having inappropriate contact with over six women in the past three years.

Weiner admitted to and apologized for having sexual telephone and email conversations with the women. Although he admitted to acting inappropriately, he says he will not resign as a representative. He states he didn’t do anything illegal, and his actions were misguided because he is a married man.

His contact with six women, who he met over the internet, included sexually explicit conversations and photos, some correspondences occurred before he married Huma Abedin, former aid to Hillary Clinton, over a year ago. He continued some of his contact after he was married, but maintains he never intended to meet any of the women. His actions aren’t considered to be sexual harassment, which would require the representation of a sexual harassment attorney, but are unbecoming behavior for a person with political stature.

There are cases of people who have been accused of sexually harassing people through texts and various social media like Facebook and Twitter. Sexual harassment is comprised of any unwanted sexual advances or comments and can be stopped by retaining a sexual harassment lawyer.

A man or woman who is subjected to unsolicited sexually explicit photos or commentary should end their harassment by meeting with a sexual harassment attorney.
