Connecticut man hits himself to avoid DUI

By: Daun Lee

A Farmington Connecticut man assaulted himself to avoid a DUI charge. According to the Huffington Post, Daniel Vagnini, 22 punched  tore his shirt, punched himself in the face and threw his keys and wallet into nearby river to deceive police into thinking he had been assaulted. He was in reality driving while intoxicated; hiring DUI attorney would be a better way to deal with those charges.

Farmington police arrested the man after they found him hiding in the woods near his abandoned vehicle. He first told police he was assaulted and blacked-out but then recanted the story, and admitted he fabricated the story.

Vagnini ran a stop sign after a drinking in the nearby town of Hartford and came close to hitting another vehicle. Only a DUI lawyer and not a fabricated story can help the individual facing a DUI.

Vagnini is charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving and evading responsibility.

One person is killed every 50 minutes by someone driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In Vagnini’s case no one was injured, but himself and at his own hands. With summer holidays approaching, police all across the country are geared up to protect others from drunk drivers.

The penalties can be harsh for the person charged with drunken or drugged driving. An experienced DUI attorney may be the only person who can minimize the ramifications of a DUI.
