Israel Targets Palestinian Tunnels with More Airstrikes

Israel has continued to launch airstrikes in Gaza as the target Palestinian tunnels near the border with Egypt.

The airstrikes came after more rockets were launched by Hamas militants into southern Israel, an action Israel has already said would affect a tenuous ceasefire. Israel had targeted the tunnels during their three-week offensive in Gaza in an effort to halt the smuggling of weapons.

Palestinians have used the tunnels to bring in food and medicine while Hamas has continued to use the underground pathways to import weapons for their attacks against Israel.

Israel has held to their blockade of Gaza, making the tunnels necessary according to Palestinians.
