Fourth Quarter Push Puts Dallas Up 3-2 Against Miami

Dirk Nowitzki had yet another stellar performance in the NBA Finals last night scoring 29 points as the Mavericks pulled ahead in the fourth quarter to win 112-103. After the game Nowitzki said that the Mavs didn't want to go to Miami and have to win two games so they pushed as hard as they could to take the lead at home.

The star of the Heat for the series, Dwyane Wade, struggled throughout the game with a sore hip but was able to finish with 23 points on the night. LeBron James, who had his worst playoff performance in game 4 bounced back to net a triple-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Chris Bosh scored 19 points and had 10 rebounds but none of it was enough to pass a hot shooting Dallas team.

The Mavericks shot 60 percent in the first three quarters and, although they briefly gave up the lead in the fourth quarter, went on a 17-4 run in the final 4:23 of the game to secure the series lead for the first time. On the game Dallas shot 56.5 percent and 68 percent from 3-point range (13 of 19).

Jason Terry had 21 points for the Mavs and JJ Barea helped with 17. Jason Kidd and Tyson Chandler both finished with 13.

Game 6 will be Sunday night in Miami and will put the Heat's backs against the wall in a win or go home situation.
