NBA Scores: LeBron James Powers Cleveland Cavaliers Past New York Knicks with Triple-Double

LeBron James recorded a triple-double with had 52 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds, Wally Szczerbiak added 12 points and 13 rebounds and Zydrunas Ilgauskas finished with 15 points and 8 boards as the Cleveland Cavaliers (39-9) went on the road and knocked off the New York Knicks (21-27) 107-102 on Wednesday night for their fourth straight win.

LeBron scored 20 points in the opening frame as the Cavaliers carried a 36-24 lead into the second but the Knicks climbed within one after a 10-1 run, all coming from Al Harrington, with 5:22 left in the half. New York stayed close but Ilguskas hit a big three-pointer to give the Cavs some breathing room and they went into the break with a 57-52 advantage.

The Knicks got back to within 65-64 midway through the third but Mo Williams and Szczerbiak hit back-to-back triple to boost the lead to 71-64. New York didn’t roll over though and a 9-0 run put them in front 78-77 late in the frame but a pair of free throws from LeBron and a layup from J.J. Hicks gave the Cavaliers an 82-78 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

New York stayed within one possession up to the final minute but a layup from Ilgauskas and two more free throws from LeBron with 22 seconds left put Cleveland in front 106-100 and the Knicks couldn’t climb over the hump.
