The former talk show host is facing a bit of drama of her own. The owner of a home ruined by fire while occupied by Lake is suing her for the damages.
Lake was living in the Malibu home when the blaze erupted in September of last year. She was attempting to refuel a space heater, but spilled some, which caused the heating coils to ignite and set items in the house on fire. Lake called the fire department to put out the blazed but the $20,000 a month property was destroyed.
The lawsuit, filed by the homeowner Hovsep Kousayan, alleges that Lake was negligent, and did not attempt to put out the fire. Kousayan spoke with emergency responders who stated that Lake admitted to causing the fire, which was listed as an accident.
Lake, her two sons and the family dog escaped the fire without any injuries.
