The winner of the 2011 U.S. Putting Tour national
championship will compete for a $100,000 first prize in the 2012 World Putting
Tour Championships, it was announced
today.
Starting in 2012, the World Putting Tour Championships will take place on three continents and feature three stages of qualifying leading to a final nine-hole competition where 10 players will compete for $100,000, the winner’s share of the $360,000 purse.
“We are thrilled to offer the winner of the 2011 U.S.
Putting Tour Championship a shot at the $100,000 winner’s prize in the 2012
World Putting Tour Championships,” said USPT president Jim Hartley. “It adds
even more prestige and excitement to this year’s USPT Championship.”
The U.S. Putting Tour is guaranteeing $10,000 to the winner of its 2011 putting championship, which takes place September 26 – October 2 at The Crossings in Carlsbad, California. The USPT Championship is open to professional and amateur golfers, men and women. Amateurs will compete with professionals in this national putting tournament for the title of America’s Best Putter.

Tour and Jim Hartley, who will be conducting our World Putting Tour
Championships at each of our Million Dollar Invitational events beginning in

The U.S. Putting Tour and USPT Championship are owned and
operated by USPT, LLC. The Tour launched in late 2010 and the first USPT
Championship is being held in late September, 2011. The putting championship is
