A Taliban group in Pakistan has claimed they have killed a Polish hostage after the Pakistani government failed to meet a deadline on releasing militants.
According to a Taliban spokesman who identified himself as Mohammed the hostage, Piotr Stanczak, was beheaded on Friday “after authorities refused to release our colleagues.”
Stanczak, an engineer, had been in Pakistan doing surveying work for an oil company when he was kidnapped by gunmen. The Pakistani government was said to be in negotiations with the gunmen for Stanczak’s release but failed to meet their demands.
