Death Toll from Australian Fires Now at 93, Officials Expect Number to Rise

The devastating wildfires that have scorched parts of Australia have resulted in at least 93 deaths and officials are expecting that number to climb as firefighters extinguish the blazes.

Fires have consumed entire towns in Victoria state as high temperatures, dry conditions and unpredictable winds fueled the blazes. The fires have been called the worst in Victoria history and while there has been a break in the weather many experts are saying the fires won’t be contained until they get heavy rain.

Police have already stated that they believe one of the fires that had been extinguished was reignited by arsonists and now officials have said they could be filing murder charges against those responsible.
