Miami Heat Point Guard Wants to Stay With Team

The Miami Heat have made a qualifying offer to point guard Mario Chalmers, who has been with the team since his NBA debut in 2008.

The offer means that the team has the option to match any contract offered to Chalmers in his free agency.

Chalmers has said that he would like to remain with the Heat.

In his three seasons with the Heat, Chalmers has averaged 7.9 points and 3.7 assists during the regular season and 8.1 points and 2.7 assists during the playoffs.

During this year's Finals series, which the Heat lost to the Dallas Mavericks in 6 games, Chalmers was the fourth-leading scorer on the Heat team.

He averaged 11.8 points per game and led the Heat team in 3-pointers with 14 total.
