Former NBA player Allen Iverson’s wife has filed for divorce, again. Tawanna Iverson filed the papers for the second time in 15 months. Allen Iverson has been playing pro-ball with a Turkish team but hopes to rejoin the NBA.

He recently had an altercation with Atlanta police where he shouted expletives at an officer who pulled him over for changing lanes without signaling. They impounded his Lamborghini which was still at the impound lot as of Wednesday.

Her original divorce petition filed in March of 2010 was eventually rescinded. Monday she filed again stating they had been separated for a while and that their marriage was “irretrievably broken.” The couple has five children together and has been married since 2001. The couple met in high school; people who marry young have a higher rate of divorce than those who wait until their thirties to get married.

In court papers, Tawanna requested sole custody of their children along with support and her share of their assets. In questions of child custody the representation of a divorce lawyer is crucial.

Lawyers’ representing both Iverson’s had no comment about the divorce filing.

A divorce proceeding can be complicated, especially if children and assets are involved. As experts in their field divorce attorneys, have the knowledge necessary to obtain favorable judgments for their clients.

Although the divorce rate has experienced a small decline in the past few years, over 40 percent of marriages end in divorce. Divorce lawyers have effectively helped many people get out of their unhappy marriages.
