Four
U.S. soldiers and an interpreter were killed in northern Iraq on Monday after a
suicide bomber detonated an explosive packed in his vehicle.
The
soldiers and interpreter had been in their vehicle in Mosul when the explosion
took place. Three soldiers died on the scene while the other soldier and
interpreter died later.
The
four deaths represent the total U.S. casualties for the month of January. There
have been more than 4,200 U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq since 2003.
