Activist Ready to Canoe Across Canada to Convince Canadians to Take Action for our Water
Montreal, QC, Canada – April 12th, 2006 – On April 15th, 2006, water activist Seth Wotten will embark on the Water for Future Generations expedition. He will be canoeing from the southeastern to the far northwestern end of Canada over the course of 2006 and 2007 (Montreal, QC to Tuktoyaktuk, NWT). He intends to raise awareness about Canadian water-related environmental issues and inspire governments, businesses, and ordinary citizens to take action for our water. His website provides a number of recommendations of how to take action at www.wffg.ca
He is scheduled to embark on his journey at the Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue Canal National Historic Site of Canada (just west of Montreal) on Saturday, April 15th, 2006. He will be holding an outdoor press conference between 9am and 11am at the canal on the morning of his departure. The canal is approximately 30 mintues from Montreal. Take Highway 20 (or 720) west from Montreal. Continue on Highway 20 and exit at Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue. Seth should be in the vicinity of the National Historic Site office at 170 Sainte-Anne Street at that time. Look for a red canoe and a green backpack.
