Tornado in Edmond, Oklahoma Leaves Schools Locked Down

A tornado touched down in Edmond, Oklahoma on Tuesday afternoon, knocking down power lines and causing serious damage to buildings while leaving scores of children locked down in their schools.

There were no reports of serious injuries but firefighters were said to be responding to calls from motorists trapped in their vehicles.

Power has been lost in about 10,000 homes and businesses in Edmond.
