At least 8 people were killed in Oklahoma Tuesday after a
series of tornados blew through the area. The storms were expected to weaken
Wednesday. The National Weather Service lifted a tornado watch.
Lone Grove, located about 90 miles south of Oklahoma
City, was hit the hardest. All eight fatalities occurred in the city as well as
more of the 50 injuries. A trailer park was destroyed as well as several homes.
The tornado completely demolished the post office and a church.
Also hit hard by the storms were Pawnee and Edmond. No
fatalities have been reported in those areas.
At least 29,000 residents in Oklahoma are without power.
