Three
separate attacks on government buildings in the Afghan capital of Kabul have
left at least 27 dead and scores more injured. According to reports the two of the
attacks were carried out by suicide bombers while the third included five
gunmen.
In
the first attack a pair of suicide bombers detonated explosives at the Prisoners
Affairs Department while the second suicide attack was carried out at the education
ministry building. The third attack, carried out by the gunmen, targeted the
justice ministry.
All
three attacks have been claimed to be carried out by Taliban militants.
The
justice ministry attack left ten staff workers dead, two intelligence workers
and a policeman were also killed. All five gunmen were also killed.
Six
policemen were killed in the suicide bombing at the Prisoners Affairs
Department.
It
is unclear how the most recent attacks will effect President Hamid Karzai’s
