Commander of Azerbaijan’s Air Force Assassinated Outside Home

Lt.-Gen. Rail Rzayev, the commander of Azerbaijan’s air force, was shot and killed outside his home in the country’s capital Baku.

According to reports Rzayev had been getting into his car when a gunman approached and shot a single bullet into his head before fleeing. Investigators are looking at security cameras to try and gather information but they have not announced a suspect or a motive for the killing.

Rzayev had been commander of the air force since 1992
