Golfers competing in this year's U.S. Putting Tour Championship in Carlsbad, California will be able to take advantage of savings at several local hotels and motels by going to the USPT website.
Entries into the national putting championship, which takes place September 26 through October 2 at Carlsbad's newest golf course, The Crossings, are coming in from across the country and from outside the U.S.
"These hotel deals will help professional and amateur golfers who are participating in the USPT Championship," said Jim Hartley, USPT president. "Out-of-town competitors can schedule their first round for Saturday, so they can book rooms for Friday and Saturday nights."
Competitors choose the day they want to play their first round of play, which consists of 72 holes of putting on The Crossings' 12-hole putting course. Seventy-two golfers will advance to the second round on Sunday, October 2. The third and final round takes place on Sunday afternoon, when the nation's
putting champion will be crowned..
The hotel discounts and other
golf deals for USPT participants are displayed at the USPT website. There is a link to the page from the bottom of the website's home page. Other special deals include a special rate for golf at The Crossings and from such
golf tournament sponsors as the Carlsbad Premium Outlets.
