NBA Scores: Boston Celtics Get 30 Points from Paul Pierce to Knock Off New Orleans Hornets

Paul Pierce shot 10-19 from the floor and finished with 30 points and Kevin Garnett added a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds as the Boston Celtics (43-11) went on eth road and knocked off the New Orleans Hornets (30-20) 89-77 on Wednesday night.

Pierce scored 15 of his points in the opening frame as the Celtics held a narrow 23-21 lead after one but the Hornets managed to jump in front in the second and by halftime they held a two-point lead, 44-42.

The third quarter was as close as the first two frames and after the Hornets built a six-point lead the Celtics managed to tie the game at 64-64 heading into the fourth. In the final frame the Celtics opened with a 15-3 run as Eddie House buried a pair of three-pointers and the Hornets never recovered.
