To keep up with its rising demand, Deacom, Inc., producer of the DEACOM Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software system for mid-to-large sized batch process manufacturing companies, hires several people and promotes others. In order to accommodate these and future hires, Deacom has also expanded its office space for the second time in the last year. This expansion is a direct result of several newly awarded contracts as customers across the nation choose DEACOM’s single solution software.
Scott Deakins joins Deacom as software operations manager. While attending the University of Notre Dame, Mr. Deakins held an internship at Deacom, which lead him to engineer a new dynamic help system for the DEACOM software and create documentation for business processes and internal procedures. After graduation, he gained additional experience working for his previous employer, Deloitte Consulting, where he implemented ERP software and systems for the retail industry, optimized and managing supply chains, developed smart phone applications, and provided training of ERP applications.
Mark Colflesh joins the company as support specialist. He has six years of ERP system administration and information system management experience in data-intense, manufacturing environments. Mr. Colflesh’s work has included analyzing internal and external client needs and developing and implementing data-driven solutions through both custom and packaged software.
Janine Zinski, CPSM, joins Deacom as director of marketing. Drawing on 16 years of experience, she has developed strategic marketing plans, managed corporate communications activities, created public relations campaigns, and lead teams for website design and brand strategy. Ms. Zinski has also supported sales and business development, written proposals, and managed trade shows and conferences.
Recent promotions within the company include Amanda Mackedanz who was named vice president of sales. Ms. Mackedanz joined Deacom in June 2010 as a Senior Product Consultant. Previously, she was responsible for determining business process requirements for manufacturing companies. As vice president of sales, Ms. Mackedanz will now manage the sales team of eight in order to continue to sell Deacom to more and larger companies.
Todd Shilhanek, who joined Deacom in November 2009, was recently promoted to implementation and support manager. Carol Martin, who joined Deacom in March 2010, has been promoted to the new position of human resources manager in addition to her current duties as office manager and assistant to the president of Deacom.
“It’s an exciting time here at Deacom,” says Deacom president Jay Deakins. “As we’ve grown the business through selling new and larger customers, we’ve built out our staff to provide “wow” support for our customers. We are very excited about the new people and other changes we are making to our processes to manage our growth and plan for additional growth. We are grateful for our new customers such as Arizona Nutritional Supplements, Yuengling Brewery, R.L. Zeigler Co., Inc., Enterprise Specialty Products, and EFI Polymers, who are really helping to bring notable success to Deacom.”
