For many families looking for a great summer camp is a yearly occurrence. Their search can end with SuperCamp, a fun and enriching summer program where students produce extraordinary academic results and gain a great sense of personal worth.
SuperCamp, an intensive summer learning program, is designed to improve the academic skills of students from middle school through college, and to build their self-confidence and ability to communicate with others. Many students call the time they spend at the academic summer camp some of the best experiences of their whole lives.
Some might wonder what goes on at a so-called “academic summer camp.” A typical day at the summer program starts with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and an opening session at 8:30. The campers then work on academic skills – reading comprehension, power writing, note-taking exercises – from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and then break for lunch from 12:30 to 1:30.
After lunch, students participate in interactive learning until 4, when they get a two-hour break for leisure time. Campers get together again around 5:30 p.m. for dinner.
They meet once more after dinner to partake in life skills activities, which include communication, creative thinking, and goal-setting. A closing session takes place at 9 p.m. and “lights out” occurs around 10.
“After experiencing SuperCamp, every student comes away with something different,” says Chicka Elloy, SuperCamp Programs Manager.
Openings are still available for a few sessions this summer. For more information, call 800-285-3276 or visit SuperCamp.com.
