A suicide bombing and subsequent shootout between Afghan policemen and militants Wednesday morning left at least six people dead in Ghazni province, Afghanistan. Ghazni Police Chief Zaror Zahed said a suicide bomber detonated his explosive laden vest at a police checkpoint in Qara Bagh district. Militants then began shooting at police officers.
Local officials say all six of the dead were police officers. Authorities have not revealed the number of wounded, but an eyewitness told the Wakht News Agency four people were wounded. Another source told Wakht that several of the wounded are in critical condition and will likely die.
No one has claims responsibility for the attack.
