Brazilian Woman Claiming Racist Attack Caused Miscarriage Wasn’t Pregnant

The 26-year-old Brazilian woman who claimed she was the target of a racist attack that caused her to miscarry twins was not pregnant.

Paula Oliveira told investigators in Zurich that she had been attacked by three skinheads on Monday who carved numerous cuts across her torso and legs. Pictures of Oliveira following the “attack” showed more than 100 cuts and the letters SVP that were said to represent the Swiss People’s Party.

Back in Brazil citizens were outraged over the attack and demanded action from the Swiss officials but investigators quickly determined Oliveira was never pregnant and that the wounds she suffered were likely self-inflicted.
