Summer Camp Motivates Unmotivated Students

SuperCamp academic summer camps are providing motivation and inspiration to high school and middle school students who attend their 10-day summer programs held at colleges throughout the country.

SuperCamp teaches both learning skills and life skills to students and, in doing so, helps campers build a sense of self-responsibility over the course of the ten days. Unlike other academic summer camps, SuperCamp's training is not subject specific. Instead, the academic instruction applies to all subject areas and the life skills cover school and personal life situations.

The teen summer camps at SuperCamp are for students who will enter grades 9-12 in the upcoming fall. These teen camps are, in effect, college prep camps, as they help students prepare for college by getting them to think about goals, career, college majors and managing their lives as they begin to live in a more independent way.

SuperCamp's middle school camps for students about to enter grades 6-8 also prepare campers for the next level in their education, in their case, high school. This program teaches the same learning and life skills as campers in Senior Forum learn; but the instruction is geared to the age and grade level of the Junior Forum students.

For students about to enter college, SuperCamp offers Quantum U, an 8-day college summer camp held at Colorado College, which takes the learning and life skills instruction to a higher level, with more in-depth training in such areas as leadership, conflict resolution, time management, communication, and other college level and pre-career skills that are critical for success.
