Blown tire kills man in in Colorado accident

By: Daun Lee

A Rifle, Colorado man Vance Flynn, 35, was killed in a head-on collision outside Parachute.

The Colorado State Police reported that a recreational vehicle driven by James Vanacore, 68, was headed west  on I-70 when he blew a tire, which caused the vehicle to go out of control. The RV veered off the right side of I-70, crashed into a wildlife fence, and went into the eastbound lane of Highway 6, which runs parallel to I-70 in that area.

A passenger truck driven by Flynn, who was the sole occupant, collided head-on with the RV. Vance was trapped inside the vehicle. After he was extracted from the vehicle by emergency crews, he was flown to a nearby hospital where died from his injuries.

None of the occupants in the RV were injured. Although the accident is still under investigation, a defective tire is the possible cause for the collision.

There are a number of causes for an auto collision; most often the inattentiveness of other drivers is the primary culprit. However, in the Colorado accident a defective product could be to blame. An accident attorney can seek compensation from manufacturers of faulty products for people who are injured or the families of the deceased.

When a driver’s negligence causes harm an accident lawyer can be retained to negotiate with insurance companies to obtain a fair settlement. If necessary an accident attorney can be employed to represent the injured in court.
