U.S. Strike in Pakistan Kills at least 27 Militants

A U.S. missile strike on a house in northwest Pakistan has left at least 27 militants dead and several more injured.

The house, near the Afghan border in the South Waziristan area, was said to be used by Taliban militants as a hideout. While Pakistan has vowed to drive out terrorist from the country they have voiced loud criticism when the U.S. launches attacks within their borders, saying it interferes with their sovereignty.

Despite the feelings of Pakistan the United States has continued to target militants who have sought refuge in the remote region along the Pakistani-Afghani border.

The target of the latest missile strike was believed to be Baitullah Mehsud who is a key figure in Pakistani Taliban action.
