PR Firm Representing Octuplet Mom Nadya Suleman Quits after Receiving Death Threats

The public relations firm representing California octuplet mom Nadya Suleman has said they will be stepping away from their commitment after receiving numerous death threats.

According to Joann Killeen, head of the Killeen Furtney Group, her firm received more than 100 threats after announcing they had taken Suleman on as a client. Killeen told the AP one threat included a promise to place her in a wood chipper.

That rage has been sparked by the Suleman’s decision to carry eight children through in vitro fertilization after already having six children by way of fertility treatments. Shortly after giving birth to eight babies on Jan. 26 the public turned on the 33-year-old when it was revealed she had already been receiving welfare.

Killeen agreed to represent Suleman after she was bombarded with offers to tell her story but the mounting criticism and death threats became too much for the PR firm. In an AP report Killeen ws quoted as saying, “We've never had a public reaction to us representing a client pro bono like this, ever.”
