Lance Armstrong’s one-of-a-kind bicycle was stolen from a
team truck in California Saturday. The bike was stolen after he completed the
first day of the nine day Amgen Tour of California.
Armstrong announced the theft on his Twitter account
Sunday morning. He is offering a reward for the return of the bicycle. “There
is only one like it in the world therefore hard to pawn it off. Reward being
offered,” he wrote.
The bike was one of four stolen from the Astana team
truck. The three others belonged to team members Janez Brajkovic, Steve
Morabito, and Yaroslav Popovych.
The Amgen Tour ends Sunday. It is the second major race
that Armstrong has competed in since announcing his comeback in September.
The seven-time Tour de France winner, who has battled
advanced testicular cancer, raced in the Tour Down Under in Australia last
month. He finished in 29th place. He is set to race in the Tour de France this
summer.
