Two NATO oil tankers loaded with fuel for forces in Afghanistan were destroyed by armed attackers in two separate incidents on Monday in Pakistan’s Balochistan province.
Local officials say the first tanker, which was bound for Kandahar, was traveling in the Dasht area of Mastung district when armed men on motorcycles opened fire. The tanker was then set on fire. Authorities confirm the driver, who has been identified as Mustafa Shah, was wounded and is currently in critical condition at a hospital in Quetta.
The second attack occurred in the Lack Pass area of Mastung. That tanker was also set on fire. The driver was not wounded.
