The Love Hope Strength Foundation (LHS), an international cancer fighting charity that provides support to cancer centers around the world and inspiration to those affected, is teaming up with the Rocky Mountain region’s largest alternative weekly, The Westword, for the 13th annual Westword Artopia. The art extravaganza, which brings together the best of what Denver has to offer in art, theatre, music, and fashion, will highlight the area's visual and performing artists, musicians, fashion designers, culinary masters and cocktail creators.
Westword is supporting the LHS mission by donating tickets to the foundation, of which 100% of the proceeds will go towards the global fight against cancer. People who wish to purchase tickets in support of cancer care may do so only through this LHS Website http://www.lovehopestrength.org/artopia.php. The Love Hope Strength Foundation will provide 40 LHS Army volunteers and raise additional funds by hosting a special Epiphone Guitar raffle giveaway. In addition, LHS will have prayer flags on site for those wishing to send the name of a loved one on their next music pilgrimage to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro in the fall of 2009. All donations received through the prayer flag initiative will go towards providing much needed support to the first 1st class cancer center in sub-Saharan Africa.
