Bristol Palin Opens Up About Motherhood in Fox News Interview

Bristol Palin, the daughter to Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin, opens up about being a teenage mother, her views on abstinence and advice for other teens in a new interview with Fox host Greta Van Susteren.

“Everyone should wait 10 years. I hope people learn from my story…it’s so much earlier if you’re married, have a house and a career. It’s not a situation you want to strive for,” the 18-year-old told Susteren.

Palin, whose pregnancy first made headlines when her mother was picked by John McCain to run as vice president for the Republican Party, welcomed a son Tripp with fiancé Levi Johnston in December. She insists it was her decision to have Tripp despite her mother being an outspoken Right to Life advocate. “It was my choice to have the baby. It doesn’t matter what my mom’s views are. It was my decision,” Palin said.

As for her mother’s views on abstinence, Palin says they are “not realistic at all,” especially for teens.

 Palin added she loves being a mother and reveals Levi is a “hands-on-dad.” “I like being a mom. I love it, just seeing him smile and stuff. It’s awesome,” she said.
