The
Boston Celtics have sent 16-year veteran Sam Cassell to the Sacramento Kings
for a conditional second-round draft pick in 2015.
Cassell
was acquired by the Celtics last March and earned a championship ring with the club
when they knocked off the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2008 Finals but he has not
played in a game this year.
It
is yet to be seen whether the 39-year-old guard will join the Kings or opt to
retire. The Celtics are an NBA best 44-11 while the Kings are an NBA worst
11-43.
Cassell
won NBA titles in 1994 and 1995 while with the Houston Rockets and again with the
Celtics in 2008 and appeared in one NBA All-Star Game.
