NBA Scores: Double-Double from Chris Paul Leads New Orleans Hornets to Blowout Win Over Orlando Magic

Chris Paul scored 36 points, handed out 10 assists and grabbed 6 rebounds, Rasual Butler finished with 15 points and 8 rebounds and David West added 14 points as the New Orleans Hornets (32-20) blasted the Orlando Magic (39-14) 117-85 on Wednesday night.

Paul started his scoring early as he dropped 12 points in a 17-6 spurt to open the game and the Hornets never looked back as they led 35-20 at the end of one. After his 16-point opening frame Paul added another 10 points in the second and New Orleans carried a 56-43 lead into the break.

Orlando got as close as 58-50 early in the third quarter but New Orleans wouldn’t let them any closer and over the final 4:37 of the frame they outscored the Magic 15-5 to head into the fourth with an 86-62 lead.

New Orleans shot 58 percent from the floor and held a 46-35 advantage on the glass while commiting just seven turnovers in the game.
