NBA News: Amare Stoudemire Could Miss Rest of Season Following Surgery for Partially Detached Retina

The Phoenix Suns fast start to the second half of the NBA season may end just as quickly after news surfaced that Amare Stoudemire could miss the remainder of the season following eye surgery to repair a partially detached retina.

According to the Suns their All-Star power forward would be out at least eight weeks and while that would place him back in time for the playoffs Phoenix is currently on the outside of that picture and without Stoudemire the prospects of postseason play are limited at best.

Stoudemire was injured during Wednesday night’s game against the Clippers in which he scored 42 points in the Phoenix win.
