Police
in Jeffersonville, Indiana have confirmed that one of two men suspected of
shooting two officers in an ambush at a motel has been arrested.
Vincent
Windell Jr. was arrested in New Albany just before noon on Friday and police
are now searching for Robert Datillo, the second suspect. According to police the
two officers, Cpl. Dan Lawhorn and Patrolman Keith Broady, were investigating
reports of illegal drug activity when they were hit with gunfire outside the door
of a motel room the suspects were in.
Broady
suffered a gunshot wound to the chest while Lawhorn was hit in the right leg.
Both officers were in stable condition at a hospital in Louisville, KY.
