Former President George W. Bush has been out of the White House for nearly a month but hasn’t felt any pressure to find new employment as he reportedly turned down an offer to be a greeter at a Dallas, Texas hardware store.
Bush was said to be with his security detail when he walked into Elliot’s Hardware and declared “I’m looking for a job.” That declaration was made after the owner of the store extended the offering earlier this month.
In pitching the job opening to Bush president and CEO of Elliot’s Hardware, Kyle Walters, said “We're confident that your experience working in your own family business, as well as your people skills developed throughout years of meeting with foreign dignitaries would make you an excellent candidate for the position.”
Walters also quipped “We think you'll find working with us much less stressful than your last job.”
While the Texas resident was given a name tag bearing the letter “W” and spoke with customers while doing some shopping he opted to stick with retirement.
