Ranowear, Inc.’s Second Quarter Shows Modest Dip

Two Straight Years of Adequate Performance Show Emergence from Recession

Ranowear, Inc., parent company of Body Body.com has announced that its Second Quarter 2011 earnings showed a modest dip from the same period in 2010. But last quarter’s performance marks two straight years of relatively strong and stable earnings after the steep recession inspired slide of 2008-2009. Weakness in women’s non-swimwear apparel accounted for some of the dip but growth in jewelry and health and beauty products filled in the gap.

Swimwear has been buoyed by continuing popularity of Body Body’s leading domestic brands and an unexpected enthusiasm for Brazilian made bikinis that specialize in skimpy coverage durable enough for demanding beach and sports use. Enthusiasm for Body Body’s plus size line of women’s swimsuits and DDD top bikinis has also grown. Supply problems did not dampen the enthusiasm for Body Body formal wear created by Scala among other high end fashion designers, solidifying its position in a market where Body Body has many unique and proprietary designs.

Body jewelry and crystal costume jewelry have also jumped in popularity with Body Body shoppers who keep an eye out for the daring and one of a kind items that the company’s buyers find all over the world. New designs by Sylvie Monthule in gold and silver plate many of which cannot otherwise be acquired outside France, as well as festive crystal creations by Desire Fashions continue to find new buyers.

Party favors and utensils and an extensive line of feminine massagers from reputable producers like California Exotics and Pipedream Products have recently been added to Body Body basics. Repeat shoppers looking for essentials should find everything they need in Body Body whenever they wish. The year round appeal of these products will also help balance the extreme seasonality of women’s swimwear sales.

“We’re confident we’ve set a solid base for carrying us through our traditionally slow late summer and back to school season,” states Ranowear President and CEO, Willis Domingo. “Then hopefully we’ll need to fasten our chin straps for a wild ride through the fourth quarter. It should be an enjoyable experience.”
